A vibrant Sint-Niklaas awaits you during the Vredefeesten

What?

On Sunday, September 8, the 10th edition of the Balloon Run will take place. This running event is part of the Vredefeesten in Sint-Niklaas so you can count on a vibrant city to run through.

Belgium's largest Great Market, the Station Street, the Place de la Régence ... it's just a small sample of the itinerary.

So, on the second Sunday of September, head down to the Waasland with the whole family for a Kids Run (1K), Short Run (5K) or Long Run (10K) and enjoy all the other festivities afterwards.

Kids Run 1K: 1:15 p.m. (ages 6 to 12)
Short Run 5K : 1:30 p.m.
Long Run 10K : 2:30 p.m.

Podium ceremony (5 and 10K): 4 p.m.

Chest number collection

Saturday, September 7, between 9 a.m. and noon
Sunday, September 8, from 11 a.m.
In the Romain De Vidtspark (City Park) at the statue of Reynaert The Fox

The start and finish line is on Park Avenue. The podium ceremony will take place in Romain De Vidtspark

Luggage

A tent in which to drop off luggage is provided at the chest number collection area. The tent will be guarded from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Locker rooms and showers

From 12 to 5 p.m., the locker rooms and showers at Sports Center De Witte Molen (Azalealaan) are open. However, please do NOT leave personal belongings here.

Food and beverage outlets

There will be no lack of atmosphere and conviviality. The Balloon Run is part of the Peace Festivities, so everyone descends to the center. Food and beverage outlets for runners and supporters will not be lacking either.

Accessibility

As much as possible, come by bike or on foot. If you come by car, you can park for free at the Waasland Shopping Center (about 1K from the Romain De Vidtspark).

The inner center of Sint-Niklaas will be completely traffic-free from noon on race day.

Trail

The start and finish are located a stone's throw from the Grote Markt in Sint-Niklaas. After the starting gun, you walk immediately in that direction.

Via the Stationsstraat, a detour will take you to the Romain de Vidtspark where a DJ will get the adrenaline pumping. After a passage on the Park Avenue, you will enter a slightly quieter part of the city. The 5K is then over when you reach Park Avenue again.

At the 10K, round two follows, although you have to go through the underground parking lot in the marketplace first.
