What?

On October 11, De Schorre will be the setting for a special adventure. During the second edition of the Night Trail, you will explore a unique route through the dark, illuminated by atmospheric lights and surprising elements.  No classic race, no ticking clock, just you, your lamp, the night, and the path ahead. It's all about experiencing and enjoying. The familiar paths of De Schorre look completely different at night: mysterious, exciting, and sometimes a little magical. Sometimes the lights guide you, sometimes you rely on your instincts. Every turn, every step brings new surprises.  Ready to experience De Schorre in a whole new way with Nighttrail?

Course

The start and finish are located at Vlinderplein, the beginning of a magical nighttime journey. You'll run into the night across the hills of De Schorre, muddy roads, the iconic stairs of Tomorrowland, and much more. Search for trolls and marvel at beautiful light shows.

Registrations

  • Personalized bib numbers are available until September 21 at midnight.

Pick up bib number

To save time, you can pick up your race number during the week at Runners' Lab Rumst during opening hours:

  • Monday, October 6: 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 7: 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 8: 9:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 9: 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Friday, October 10: 9:30 a.m. – 6:00

On the day itself: you can pick up your race number at Vlinderplein in De Schorre from 6 p.m.

 

Start and finish location

The start and finish are located on Vlinderplein, close to the De Pitte conference center. It can be reached on foot or by bike. (Park your car in Parking 2. See the section on 'accessibility'.)

 

Supply

There will be one refreshment point and one final refreshment point for the 11km and 14km distances. These will be located approximately halfway along the trail. The 6km route only passes the final refreshment point.

 

Medal

For all Keep on Running events, we provide a beautiful medal that perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the event. All participants receive a Vitamin Well drink and a FULFIL protein bar at the finish line.

 

Places to eat and drink

We will create a lively atmosphere with food trucks at our start and finish zone on Vlinderplein. Supporters can enjoy a delicious pasta dish or a tasty hamburger. It is also a welcome treat for runners before or after their exertions. The food trucks will be open continuously between Run For Your Love and Nighttrail.

 

Cup-free event 

Please note! All Keep on Running events have been cup-free since 2025 .

This means that we do NOT provide cups at the supply stations.

  • You provide your own running backpack or drinking cup and take it with you on the course.
  • You can purchase an eco cup for €3 when you register or at the cash register.
  • You can purchase a Runners' Lab soft flask for €12 when you register or at the cash desk.

 

Luggage

There is a secure cloakroom at Vlinderplein.

 

Keep on Running T-shirt 

We have four high-quality running T-shirts in our range. Add your favorite color to your shopping cart. A T-shirt costs €15 and you can pick it up on the day of the event itself at the T-shirt stand or at the reception desk. Are you unexpectedly unable to participate in the event? We will have your T-shirt ready for you at the nearest Runners'lab store after you notify us at events@keeponrunning.be.

 

Changing rooms, showers, and sanitary facilities

There are no changing rooms or showers available on the day of the event. Restrooms are available close to Vlinderplein.

Accessibility

Car

De Schorre is centrally located between Antwerp and Mechelen and is easily accessible via the E19 and A12 motorways.

  • Via the E19 from Antwerp: take exit 7 Kontich and follow the signs for Boom and De Schorre.
  • Via the E19 from Brussels: take exit 8 Rumst and follow the signs for Boom and De Schorre.
  • Via the A12 and from Boom: take exit 9 Boom on the A12. At the top of the exit, turn left. Take the N177 (parallel road to the A12) towards Antwerp until you reach the first traffic lights. Turn right there (Beukenlaan) and after 50 meters, turn right again (Velodroomstraat). At the roundabout, take the first exit (Velodroomstraat). At the end of the street, turn right and at the next roundabout take the third exit (Schommelei). De Schorre is on the left.

 

Parking

You can park for free at the main entrance of De Schorre on Schommelei in P1.

 

Bicycle

There is a bicycle parking facility on the grounds. It is located at the main entrance of the domain, on Schommelei.

 

Public transportation 

Several buses departing from Mechelen, Antwerp, and Boom station stop at De Schorre. 

The "Boom Voetballerstraat" bus stop is located approximately 200 meters from the main entrance of De Schorre.  The following bus lines stop here: 

 

  • Line 18a (Antwerp Groenplaats – Aartselaar – Boom) 
  • Line 50 (Mechelen – Rumst – Boom – Antwerp) 
  • Line 29b (Antwerp – Niel – Reet – Boom) 
  • Line 298 (Berchem – Antwerp South – Niel – Boom) 
  • Line 351 (Lier – Kontich – Boom) 

 

The "Boom De Schorre" stop is located in Schommelei, just before the main entrance. The following bus lines stop here: 

  • Line 18a (Boom – Aartselaar – Antwerp Groenplaats) 
  • Line 29b (Boom – Reet – Niel – Antwerp) 
  • Line 50 (Mechelen – Rumst – Boom – Antwerp) 

 

When you leave De Schorre and head back towards Antwerp, you can board again at the ‘Boom De Schorre’ stop. 

 

The stops 'Boom Bosstraat' and 'Boom Schorre' are located on Kapelstraat. Line 50 (Mechelen – Rumst – Boom – Antwerp) stops here. For the return trip to Mechelen, you can board on the other side of Kapelstraat at the stops 'Boom Bosstraat' and 'Boom Schorre'. 

 

This may change during events at De Schorre.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it mandatory to wear a headlamp?

Yes, every runner is required to carry a running light. This is to ensure safety, as the course is not fully lit everywhere. Still looking for a new light? Here you will find various options.

Is the course illuminated?

The course is clearly marked and equipped with atmospheric lighting. However, this is not sufficient to illuminate the entire course. Therefore, it is mandatory for each participant to provide their own lighting.

Are dogs allowed?

Due to the unique course with many narrow paths, dogs are not allowed at this event.

Do you need trail shoes, or are regular road shoes sufficient?

Trail shoes are recommended for this route, as it is largely unpaved. Especially in the dark, it is wise to wear trail shoes for extra grip and safety. Would you like advice on this? Make here make an appointment at Runners' Lab.

Where can I find the GPX file for the route?
